Emergency electrician in Montreal
Half the house went dark, a breaker trips the second you reset it, or something smells hot near an outlet. Tell us what’s happening and where. A licensed master electrician in your area calls you back and tells you whether it needs a visit tonight.
First: who should you call?
A lot of late-night calls to electricians are really for Hydro-Québec, and the other way around. Pick the closest match.

What it costs
Every contractor sets their own rates, but the time of day drives most of the difference. Rough figures for Greater Montreal in 2026, travel and first hour included, before tax and parts:
| When you call | Travel and first hour | Each extra hour |
|---|---|---|
| Weekdays, business hours | $150 to $250 | $95 to $140 |
| Evenings and weekends | $225 to $375 | $130 to $190 |
| Overnight and holidays | $300 to $500 | $160 to $230 |
If it can safely wait until morning, a decent electrician will say so. That alone often halves the bill.
Where we find electricians
Anywhere on the island, from the Plateau and NDG to Pierrefonds, Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Beaconsfield, plus Laval and the near South Shore: Longueuil, Brossard, Saint-Lambert, Boucherville. A lot of West Island homes are 1960s and 70s splits and bungalows still on 100 amp service, so panel and service upgrades come up there more than anywhere.
Electricians we send requests to hold an RBQ licence, which is what Quebec requires for any electrical work in someone else’s home. Most of them work in both languages.
